The more your body hurts the less you can experience the things you love.

Regenerative medicine helps you heal faster to be active sooner. Eliminate the feeling of aging by regenerating and healing connective tissues: liaments, tendons, and cartilage.

Traditional vs. Regenerative Approach

The traditional approach to pain is generally palliative, meaning covering pain, but without restoring the damaged tissue.

Arthroscopic surgery can remove areas of deterioration and damage but this does not regenerate the tissue to become restored again. Steroid injections (cortisone) will decrease the pain without providing building blocks for new tissue regeneration. In fact, steroids degrade the collagen matrix making the already weak tissue weaker.

Pain medications work to cover up pain but have high risk of addiction and again do nothing to support healing the musculoskeletal system. The traditional approach has its place but is not a long term solution.

The regenerative approach

Regenerative injection therapies utilize the body’s own growth factors that will make weak cartilage, tendons, and joint spaces new and functional again. This allows you to heal faster, be active sooner, and reverse the aging process. This approach is for the long term and in most cases a permanent resolution.

How do I know if regenerative medicine is the best treatment for me?

In the initial exam, palpation to identify the precise location of damaged ligaments is the essence of effective treatment. MRI, ultrasound and x rays can be useful in determining the extent of the injury or condition.

These will be helpful if you already have them and if not we may refer you for updated films.

One must remember that most connective and joint problems can be accurately diagnosed with a good ortho exam and accurate palpation

Acupuncture is a 3000 year old Chinese medicine healing technique in which very thin sterile needles are inserted in specific points on the body.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on an ancient philosophy that describes the universe, and the body, in terms of two opposing forces: yin and yang. When these forces are in balance, the body is healthy.

Energy, called “qi” flows along specific pathways, called meridians, throughout the body. This constant flow of energy keeps the yin and yang forces balanced. However, if the flow of energy gets blocked, like water getting stuck behind a dam, the disruption can lead to pain, lack of function, or illness.

Acupuncture therapy can release blocked qi in the body and stimulate function, evoking the body’s natural healing response through various physiological systems. Modern research has demonstrated acupuncture’s effects on the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems, cardiovascular system, and digestive system. By stimulating the body’s various systems, acupuncture can help to resolve pain, and improve sleep, digestive function, and sense of well-being.
